Rules
This market concerns Canada's annual inflation rate for the 12-month period ending in December 2026, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) before seasonal adjustment and reported by Statistics Canada. The market will resolve based on the 12-month percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for December 2026, as published in the monthly Statistics Canada CPI report. If the reported inflation rate matches one of the listed market options, that selection will resolve to "Yes" and all other selections will resolve to "No." If the reported inflation rate does not match any listed option, all selections in this market will resolve to "No." The official resolution source will be the Statistics Canada Consumer Price Index report for December 2026, currently scheduled for release on January 18, 2027. The market will resolve once that report is published. If data for December 2026 has not been released by the date the following month's CPI report is scheduled to be published, the market will instead resolve using the most recently available CPI data. The primary resolution source is: https://www.statcan.gc.ca/en/start Once the report is available, navigate to "Major Economic Indicators" on the homepage and select the "Consumer Price Index" release for December 2026. The relevant value can be found in "Table 1" under the "% change" column comparing the relevant month and year with the same month of the previous year. Statistics Canada's release schedule is available at: https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/dai-quo/cal1-eng.htm?sk=3665 Note: The official Statistics Canada monthly CPI news release reports the 12-month inflation rate to one decimal place (for example, 2.4%). This level of precision will be used for market resolution.
