Rules
This market resolves YES if Canada's Consumer Price Index (CPI) year-over-year inflation rate, as published by Statistics Canada, is higher on 31 December 2027 than on 8 October 2026, otherwise NO. The inflation rate is defined as the percentage change in the CPI from the same month in the prior year. The 8 October 2026 rate is established using Statistics Canada's most recent CPI release available as of market creation. The 31 December 2027 rate is established using Statistics Canada's CPI release for December 2027, published in January 2028. If Statistics Canada's methodology or base year changes materially between the two dates, the market will resolve using the consistent series or adjustment factor published by Statistics Canada to ensure comparability. The primary resolution source is Statistics Canada's official CPI data releases; a consensus of major Canadian financial media (Bank of Canada communications, major Canadian banks' economic reports, or Reuters/Bloomberg Canada inflation coverage) may serve as a secondary source if Statistics Canada data is unavailable or disputed.
